Okay yes I am strange, but I love moving........
Okay so it isn't normal moving where you have endless packing, and moving to do. We pack our suitcases, and we leave. The army packs everything and drives off in the moving truck. We always make a family vacation out of our moves. Like when we moved from Fort Hood, Texas to Fort Knox, Kentucky.....we went through Mesa, Arizona and Kanab, Utah. Many of you may rip out your maps, and say what? Um just so you know those two places are NOT on the way! Kentucky is only 10 hours from Texas. We instead spent 18 hours traveling up to Arizona and Utah, and then 30 something hours over to Kentucky, so yes I would call that the LONG WAY to Kentucky. I just have to say that although I will always be a loyal Texas gal, Kentucky is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I loved to explore there! I even found my dream house while we were in Kentucky. And as luck would have it, it was on sale for only $105,000. It was built in 1839 and was over 4300 square feet with fireplaces in each room, even the kitchen. I tried to talk Pres into it, but now someone has purchased it to renovate as a historical home. Dang it! Pres did take me to see it, and we even went and got the key from the realtor so we could explore inside. That is what I chose to do for my birthday while we were there. I loved it!Anyways! Back to moving. I love to be dropped in the middle of a new place, and explore, and meet all new people, and find all new places. I love it! It is exciting and like my dear sweet friend Beth H. said in her beautiful book she made for us.....you are needed in a different way each place you go. I think that is my favorite part, about the moving, and being in the military. I love how it stretches you, and forces you to grow. Okay well I guess it doesn't force you, but you can enjoy the military, and take advantage of all it has to offer, or you can sit and be miserable and alone. Which I have to say works for some people I guess because I have seen a few do that. To each his own, right?

You are STRANGE! :) all in favor say "ah". Just kidding...i think if all i had to do was pack my suitcase i'd be coolw it as well. lucky duck! welcome to the world of blogging! watch out it is TOTALLY addicting!
Preston does look so cute! :)
I like the house you're in there in Kentucky. But you did tell me about that other one and it sounded absolutely great! Or at least had the possibility to be absolutely great! I can totally understand what you're saying about loving to move (if the whole boxing and unboxing was taken care of).
I have only one question worth asking at this point.....drumroll....have you gone to the Wizard of Oz museum yet? You are not to leave without going and enjoying it and taking lots of pics to share in case I can't get up there before you're off traveling the world again!
I love 1/2 of moving. Even when military does it it's still a pain in the bootie getting all new (good) doctors, changing addresses with all my catalog companies (SO important so I feel like I still get mail when nobody else sends me anything :)), and all the other busywork stuff. But I, like you, LOVE exploring. I seriously get exhilarated seeing someplace new... like my heart starts pounding, my hands get all clammy and I just get HAPPY. Wait, sounds like LOVE! Cheesy eh?
moving was much more fun when i was younger. but i do like new places - it does make you stretch. learning new places, and people. it's fun. and good for you!
