Ben, my brother flew into Kansas City a few weeks ago. Me and the boys picked him up and went to visit Independence, Missouri. Then we stayed over in Kansas City, and the next day we visited, Liberty Jail, Far West, Adam-Ondi-Ahman, and then over to Nauvoo, Illinois Temple. It was fast because he could only stay the weekend but well worth it. We had a blast. It was such a spiritual high. We found an awesome hotel in Nauvoo, just down from the temple. It was two bedroom, two bath, living room, and kitchen. Each bedroom had a queen bed, as well as a set of wooden bunk beds. In another room there was a third set of bunkbeds. It was awesome. They have an indoor pool, restaurant in the hotel, and a salon in the hotel. It was awesome! Great gift shop. Very family friendly. All for only $119 a night. I thought that was pretty dang reasonable since it sleep 10 people. This summer we are planning on going to Palmyra, New York to visit the temple, and the Sacred Grove. That is so cool you guys got to see all that stuff. How far a drive are those places from you? I've been to Nauvoo and loved it. But not any of the other places you went to that weekend. Palmyra is AWESOME. You'll love it!
My parents packed us all up and drove up there on a 2 week road trip when I was 17 and I can't remember much but I do remember feeling the spirit really strong at all of those places- it was awesome!
i would love to make that trip with you and the boys. when are ya going? since i know you have time and more time to spare!!
