Okay so this is my Sunday school class @ church. They are ages 14 through 18. From left to right is Tyler, Matt, Perry, Bri, Colten, Brittany, and Ellen. I can't tell who the girl in the back with the bandanna on is. There are lots more kids in my class, this is just a few that went to Youth conference. Well anyways. They were quite chatty this last week in Sunday school, and the air conditioner was broken, so our room was like a sauna, so I tried to deal with it for 15 minutes, then told all 15 of them to follow me. We found another room, and I tried to start my lesson again. It was a lost cause.Tyler the oldest one, usually tries to keep them in line for me. Tells them to stop talking, or to basically shut up. He is a huge help! I got so frustrated because there were no chairs in our room for some reason, and then trying to teach when it was so dang hot! Well to make a long story short I couldn't get them to follow the lesson so finally I shut my lesson book, and my scriptures, and said Dex why don't you give me a closing prayer. Their mouths just dropped open. It was hilarious! I said we are wasting our time. We can try again next week. And then I added, oh yeah..since we didn't get to finish our lesson, that means there will be no FOOD next week! I religiously bring them whatever treats they want from cheese ball and crackers, to veggie trays, to Doritos and cream cheese, to watermelon. Well the deal we made is if I don't finish my lesson then the following week there are no treats. This is the first time in 8 months I have had to follow through with it!
