An ice storm...seriously BIG DEAL...

Okay that is what I used to think. I was laughing when they were making a big deal out of it on the news, and thinking seriously an ICE STORM. I was prepared anyways, and was just laughing at what a big deal they were making of it...well now I am a BELIEVER! Holy cow there are trees everywhere! The power is out everywhere. There were forced evacuations here on post if you did not have an alternate source of heat. Lots of my friends are still without power. A couple of them won't have power for another 10-13 days! Wow! I am an emergency preparedness FREAK! (Thanks, DAD!) Well I get excited to get to use my emergency stuff. Each time we have to use it, I make a list with the kids of anything else we think we should add to our kits. I love it! Kind of like mom and school supplies! yeah okay I have that weirdness too.....I love to buy school supplies, and hoard them like dad used to do with hiking boots! :) Anyways here are a few pictures that I took just around our house! The boys are always finding sticks and dragging them to the playground, and the neighborhood gals and I are always dragging them to the garbage cans. The boys were having a blast with all the broken limbs everywhere. Although it was kind of scary because huge tree limbs were still falling! One huge limb fell right in our front yard and almost took the power lines with it!
