Had an awesome inspiring lesson today on food storage. Wish yall could have been there. She gave us the low down on the economy, and one of my favorite quotes was...
"The time will come that gold will hold no comparison in value to a bushel of wheat."
President Brigham Young
"We will live to see the day when we live on what we produce. Make sure you are prepared to go through a period of stress on the resources you have provided for yourselves."
President Marion G. Romney
"People in America are almost entirely dependent upon money and the grocery store for our food and clothing. If anything should ever cause our money to devaluate, our income to cease, or the grocery stores to close, we would all be standing in a precarious position for life's basic necessities. Any program which will enable a man to provide for his family under all conditions is worth the best effort of every man. " Bob Zabrinskie in Family Storage Plan
Okay I lied...I saved my favorite for last
"The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to the temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah."
Elder Bruce R. McConkie

It is a great little starter kit. It is an extremely good deal! One box is considered a 3 month supply for one person. It makes it very easy. I have 24 boxes for our entire family. That is a year supply. I also buy extras that some of us think we cannot live without, dried apple slices, granola, hot chocolate. :) I am working towards having 2 years of food storage now. Yeah! I also buy superpails of hard red wheat, rice, lentils, and sugar. Just covering all the bases. And yes I am a food storage junkie. I get so excited! Also very excited about 72 hour kits, but that is a whole different blog post! :) GET YOUR FOOD STORAGE! One of the stakes just south of us even had the stake president stand up in church and tell the members to stop planning on purchasing new tvs, and luxuries with their coming tax returns, and GET THEIR FOOD STORAGE! What a great idea. Most of us are getting the stimulus checks, USE IT WISELY! Okay I am done, down off my soap box. Love yall! :)

it wasn't raining when noah built the ark.
Food storage must be the talk of the town. In church that is what our lesson was on. I heard you need to stock up on wheat. There is a shortage. That is if you can get your hands on some. When the cannery gets it in it is gone in 45 minutes so they say. Thanks for all the nice comments you left. Can you move back to Az too.
ditto Erin! they had a big priesthood meeting about it on sunday as well. Man...makes me nervous. i love the quote about it not raining when noah built his ark!
I need to take an inventory of what I've got. It's all mixed up since we've moved here and there and everywhere. Then I'll be able to fill in the gaps!
