Oh my goodness I love my Onstar...

Seriously....when you talk about living in the "country" in Texas...you can still find your way back to town. Even in Boerne, when we lived 45 minutes from town. It wouldn't be hard to find your way back to town. I got lost today in Wasilla. HOLY CRAP! The only reason I didn't just pull onto the side of the road and CRY, is first of all the boys were with me, and second of all...THERE IS NO WHERE TO PULL OFF THE STUPID ROAD! I drove and drove, and deeper into the woods we seemed to go, even when I would turn around and head another way. Finally the roads were no longer paved. Are you kidding me? Finally I remembered that I have the Onstar, and I can ACTUALLY USE IT! I wasn't sure if it would work since I was in the middle of no where, and the XM radio does not work in Alaska, ANNOYING! Well anyways...I called the onstar dude and he said where do you want to go, and I could barely crack out HOME, without a whimper! Then I gave him my address on post, and it didn't recognize it because it is too new construction! Seriously! (That is another thing that really got me lost is none of the roads are marked. You are just expected to know the names of the streets, or I guess they expect that you have no business being out there. ) I was picking up somethings I got on craigslist. It was only supposed to take me 1.5 hours, and It rounded out at about 4 1/2 hours. Well anyways the onstar guy could probably tell I was almost in tears, so he said if I can get you back to post do you think you can find your house? I said ABSOLUTELY! I was so happy. Well so they have this thing that will record what he is telling you, so he doesn't have to stay on the phone with you, and you can replay it as you need it. well I accidentally screwed that up, but remembered about half of his directions and got back to where I needed to be. After this experience I am so glad we decided to live on post. My idea of living in the "country", and Alaska's version of "country" are in two different worlds! So I am so glad to be home.........yeah yeah yeah ! Thank you Onstar dude! :)
