4th time around for this load of laundry.....

Okay so everytime I have gone upstairs today...I have started the washer....with the same load of white in the washer. I can't stand sour laundry....yet I was definitely having focus issues today....so I just started the load of whites for the 4th time. I WILL REMEMBER TO PUT IT IN IN THE DRYER BEFORE I CRASH INTO BED TONIGHT! Totally crazy week! ABsolutely worth every second of craziness. The FRG meeting went great! WE had a ton of peeps that I have never even met. Had a little bit of help from the 1SG! Thanks! :) We had two ladies on the do not contact list, for whatever reason I do not know...they showed at the meeting...and they are AWESOME! I had a talk with one of the ladies about....the ever dreaded gossip....which I will not be a part of. I told her that everyone gets a fresh start with me in this troop. I don't care what happened in the last troop. Anywho! I made notebooks for all the point of contacts with little subliminal messaging in them such as.....people are hard enough on themselves, let's build each other up.....most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be....stuff like that. It was really great. It is so fun to meet such diverse and interesting people. I had a line of ladies waiting to chat with me after the meeting. I had a piece of paper taking notes while they talked to me. I love that they want to jump in and be active in the FRG. That will make it strong, and more exciting. I know most of this talk means a great big NADA to most of you, but you military wives hear me. Wow for our first attempt at the FRG meetings. We had two this week. One in the afternoon, and one in the evening tonight. We wanted to get a feel for what time would get a better turn out. So yesterday in the afternoon meeting we had a whooping two peeps! Tonight we had about 40. None of the LT's are married except one, and I am having a hard time making that newly married spouse PLAY BALL, but don't you worry I will get her. I just have to take it slow and find my in! :) We have a great SQDN CO. They are all about making all events "family friendly". SERIOUSLY! They even made our last hale and farewell absolutely family friendly, and it was really fun. We had it at a two story cabin that looks over the lake, and they had all the kids downstairs and brought toys and movies and stuff. Upstairs we had our dinner, and ceremony. It really did work. The kids were so entertained that they didn't come up stairs. I was impressed. Wow are the wives in the troop young! I am on the average 10 years older than most of them! The senior advisor breakout, after the steering committee was awesome too. The SQDN Co's wife said don't be afraid to go to bat for your ladies.....they won't ever forget it. I remember each and every time someone has gone to bat for me....and it reminds me of that movie Pay it Forward....it makes me want to help someone else. I love the army! It is frustrating, and hard, and tiring sometimes, but I love the peeps I meet. I love all the different experiences I have. I love seeing all the beautiful places we have lived. I miss my husband sometimes, but I love that he is already attached to all these new guys. Sometimes I wish that we could leave the FRG and his soldiers at the door....I remember when Beth used to say....I never get to talk about what I want to talk about...because you always had "army stuff " to talk about with Zach....especially when the guys were deployed. I can't believe how easy you guys made this look....Beth and Roxann....Beth Holmes....Stacy....Clarissa....Rhonda....I love it, and am so glad that I decided to try it, but wow....at least I do have one thing going for me......the ladies are volunteering for everything like crazy. I am actually delegating EVERYTHING I can think of. The ladies have told me over and over that the last Co's wife was unapproachable, and snobby, and wouldn't talk to anyone....I never met her. I told them tonight at the beginning of the meeting to just give me a chance to show them a new FRG, and that it is all about your attitude, and what you want out of your FRG. It doesn't matter how many fun things I plan if no peep show up. So afterwards I told one lady that she can be in charge of gathering stuff for me to put in the newsletters, and do the "soldier wives spotlight", another lady is going to be the secretary, it was so amazing. I loved that they could feel my excitement, and feel that I really do want to get to know them. I took the troop roster, and retyped it....everything....every wives name, kids, everything. I retyped all the platoon rosters. It really helped me remember names, and which peeps were with which platoons, and all that. So anyways. I feel like I could go on and on. I guess above all I just want to say thanks to the AMAZINGLY COOL 20TH ENGINEER LADIES that absolutely made me fall in love with the FRG....yall showed me everything....you always kept that postive attitude that made me want to follow in your footsteps and try running an FRG myself. You made it look so easy, that part I can't figure out. But I figured out tonight that I don't have to be nervous, or running all over the place to make everything perfect, they don't expect me to be perfect, or run a perfect meeting, they just want someone who cares, and listens, and I guess sometimes just a sounding board. Wow I can't even put into words how pumped I came away from that meeting....even though when we showed up, we had reserved the children's play room next to our conference room....and we got there and someone else had reserved it as well. Thank goodness ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THEIR KIDS SHOWED, SO THEY GAVE IT TO US. That SO could have made our meeting a NO GO. So Kassy, now that the first week of FRG meetings are over...maybe we can play...and I can bring you ur bday gift, and the ROBOT I promised! :) Beth I finally figured out why we keep missing each other's calls, you have been calling my cell phone, and I have been calling and leaving messages on your phone number in DC........hm lots of messages........sorry dude whoever has that number now. I think I even sang to him. SAD :( Kleigh Mae I can't wait to see you! Only a few more weeks! The boys are counting the days! wow this is so exciting. love you guys goodnite :)

Well hello superwoman! Those girls are so lucky to have you.

And I hate laundry that's been sitting in the washer awhile, too. The water here gets a very foul smell if it sets too long!

so is Kleigh coming for a visit...or.....more????

What have we been up to?
