I got this cool saying from my Papa when I was still in high school. It says....
Dear Lord,
Sometimes I compare my life
with that of another.
Help me appreciate my many
blessings and remind me
that I would not trade my life
with any one else's
if I could see behind
their closed doors.
Amen.
I really like that saying. It is so true. We all have our struggles...some more visible than others. I am so thankful for my trials, that Heavenly Father saved especially for me! :) Heavenly Father knew exactly in what ways I need to stretch and grow....(PATIENCE= give Katy 4 boys :)
I love my boys. I just am very thankful for all the amazing peeps I have been meeting up here in AK. Some really great strong ladies. I can't believe how many LDS families Heavenly Father is bringing to Alaska! It is amazing. I love it. I am so thankful we have a temple only 20 minutes from my house. I would really like to try and go more than once a month. I don't see why I can't go once a week now that the kids are in school. Imagine how much more focused I could stay....on the important things. I absolutely loved the women's broadcast tonight. Wow I am glad I went. I loved President Uchtdorf's talk. Wow he is amazing. He said stop focusing on your weaknesses, and focus on your strengths. Focus on the things you are doing right, not where you are failing. I like the way he said.....CREATE without fear of imperfections.
I love President Hinckley's quote....Work will cure your grief, SERVE OTHERS. With another upcoming year long deployment...this is what I choose to focus on...SERVING OTHERS. It works miracles....for loneliness while the guys are gone. It gets you through those days that feel like they will never end. You can always find someone who is doing worse than you are. When you lift someone else, you are lifted as well. President Uchtdorf also said to open our eyes and see the heavy hearts that surround us and let us be the answer to their prayers. THAT is how to get through a deployment. We will stick together, and keep each other UP. He said to embrace ourselves in the work, and Heavenly Father will embrace you in his arms. What could be better than that? Wow what a pep talk that was. So amazingly beautiful. WHat a HIGH! I also got to meet some awesome ladies at the dinner afterwards! My new blogging friend Krista! :) I love meeting new people. I love being in new surroundings and just jumping in! I am all up for the sewing day....you may regret inviting me!? Maggi's family is visiting and I am so jealous. Lots and lots of family. They are so fun. The baptism for Jacob today was so awesome. I can't believe he is 8. My babies are growing so fast. I will post pics in the morning. I love watching Pres with his priesthood. It is so WOW. Makes me feel so blessed. We invited the 1SG and his family to the baptism. It was so fun to have them there. They are really fun. They have three boys. Well I am signing off....so great to have such a high today with Jake's baptism, and the women's broadcast! And yeah tomorrow is Sunday! :) Two more weeks Kleigh Mae!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you had a beautiful day!! Congrats on the baptism. LIFE is good. We really are blessed.
I didn't realize your son's baptism was today! Congrats!!
I'm so glad I met you! I'm so excited about our sewing get-together. Tell everyone at church 2nd Thursday at Muldoon 10:30am. Kids can come.
I want to go to the temple with you every week. When do you wanna go? No Wednesdays so that leaves Thursday and Fridays...whatcha think?
I think we are going to become good friends! You are so sweet!!
Okay you are Superwoman and all but your husband is not allowed to leave again so soon for a year! For some reason I thought he was non-deployable from Alaska. I loved Elder Uchtdorf's talk, too. Glad you had a good day!
Wasn't Jacob just born yesterday??? WOW...eight years ago seems like a minute ago.
I too loved the conference...and I love Sister Beck, she says it straight, but with love and understanding that we are all at different spots.
I have been going to the temple weekly since last November when Mack left for DC. Along with Sunday it makes my week so much better and keeps my thoughts on what is more important. JD has loved going to "his Fiends" and then my friend and I go to lunch. We recently added a Book of Mormon class on that day.....I have learned so much and I walk away filled to the brim with peace and hope.
I also have you to thank, because you helped me gain the strength to face going to the temple alone for so many years...by going with me.
Now when Mack and I attend the temple, it is all the sweeter, because I do not take for granted that he is by me side and we are 16 years into eternity!
