Doctrine & Covenants 121: 7-8
7. My son, peace be unto thy soul;
thine adversity and thine afflictions
shall be but a small moment;
8. And then, if thou endure it well,
God shall exalt thee on high; thou
shalt triumph over all thy foes.
It is so hard to get caught up in the here and now. Everything is so fast paced in today's society, but if we can truly remember that we are here to prove that we can follow God's commandments, so we can earn our eternal life....it is so much easier. It is so much easier to focus on the "bigger picture". With my dad that is what got me through, focusing on the bigger picture. I know that I will see him again. I know he is watching me, and comforts me often. I know I have said this many times, but when people ask how do you do the army thing....the only response I have is ....Pres loves to be a soldier. I would do anything for him. I would never ask him to be in a job all day everyday that he hated. As long as he loves it, we will do it. I hate the separations, but they do help us grow, and help us appreciate each other more, and the missionary opportunities are amazing. I truly believe that Heavenly Father is stacking the military with more and more Latter-Day Saint & Christian families, so that we can STAND UP for our morals, and values and make a difference. What an amazing army we would have if more people would stand up for what is right. What greater comfort could you have than God's protection of your soldier while he is gone, or the protection of your family while you are gone. Well just my ramblings for this morning. Hope everyone is having a great Monday, whether you have it off...or you are in school! :) That is for you Ellen! Miss ya!
