Definitely time to update the 72 hour kits......
After being under the stairs in the basement tonight for three hours!!! With the boys. We made a list of things that we need to get, or improve. We need some sort of lantern to hang under the stairs instead of us all holding our own flashlights. We had our weather radio. Travis' backpack definitely needed updating, as it still had diapers in it. He was mad! They had books, and colors, and snacks. It wasn't too bad until the weather radio started telling us stay in your basements because of the tornado, and in the next breath telling everyone to get to higher ground because of severe flash flooding! Make up your mind!

Katy - Hi! I so remember you from growing up w/ Bec! I love your site - I have shed tears - your tribute to your Dad is wonderful, I love the pictures.
FOUR boys! :) yes, we should start a club! :)
ARE you freaking kidding me! is it over? did the tornado hit your town? UGH! that makes me sick to my stomach!
Wow that is crazy! I'm so not prepared for those situations at all. The first hurricane season after we got here I found out that people had been hiding in their bathrooms one day cause the sky had turned green (apparently the sign of a tornado) and then there's me just la dee da thinking everything's fine. Luckily it never came. Do you have a checklist of what you have in your kits? I know lds.org has info but just thought I'd check! We bought 2 pre-made ones w/first-aid, food, toiletries, etc. just the basics. That's funny Travis was mad about the diapers in his :) Hope you don't have to hide under the stairs again anytime soon!
I had no idea there was a weather deal. When was that? I'm glad I only knew after so I don't have to be scared, but that's kind of scary that I'm so clueless about that kind of thing. How in the world would I ever know if I was supposed to be seeking refuge from some weather anomaly?
Yikes! That is scary! Hmmm, to drown, or get sucked up in a tornado... that's a tough choice! I'm glad you are all ok though! Last year there was a mini tornado warning here and I was way too excited.
