I Will..................By: Cooper Hendrix

One of my new friends here in Kansas, and a new convert to the church wrote this song. She played the guitar also while she sang it to us in Relief Society. Her husband is home on R & R right now. To those non-military people out there, that is their two weeks of time with their family while they are deployed.

Because her husband came home early in his deployment instead of half way through, (so he could see his son graduate from high school) it is going to be another full year till she sees him again. It is a great blessing to get those two weeks with your soldier, but then it also breaks your heart all over again when they leave, again. Her husband is leaving in the morning for Iraq. That is what she was thinking when she wrote this song. She is basically saying, all we can do is put our trust in God, and know that God loves our soldiers even more than we do, which is hard to even imagine. We love you Cooper!

I Will By: Cooper Hendrix

I will give you my life
I'll lay it down, I'll give it up
every dream that I hold dear
each passing hope, and every tear
because I know the storms may come
the winds may blow, and yet I know
the sky may turn as dark as coal
and yet you're in my heart
to hold.

The sun will rise with each new dawn
your truths withstand life's toughest storms
I hold your truth within my soul
and know your plan will lead me home
back to your home

I will trust you with their lives
all those I love, I give them up
the path ahead I cannot see
but this I know, you're leading me!

And if you changed this heart of stone
I know you won't leave them alone
All that I love
you love them more
into your care I trust then Lord

Although the trials may come and go
you've put your word into my soul
your atonement set me free
it broke sin's chains and ransomed me
You ransomed me.........

I will give you my life
I lay it down,
and sacrifice everything I hold dear
each passing hope
and every tear

Because I know the storms may come
the winds may blow, and yet I know
the sky may turn as dark as coal
and yet you're there
my heart to hold
My heart to hold.

Those words are beautiful- I get caught up in fear of the unknown and things I can't control sometimes and that song has such a beautiful message- thanks for sharing it!

Wow. That was good. But it made me sad cause I remembered it's not long before Justin leaves. That's cool that her husband came home for his son's graduation. A guy here got to come home aside from his R&R for his son's baptism. Pretty cool!

that's so true. we are all here on this earth to prove ourselves and it's hard. dang hard sometimes. how incredible it is to know that we are not alone. remember that song? and to remember that as much as we love our family and friends - Heavenly Father loves them "to infinity and beyond" as dad would say.

What have we been up to?
