I mentioned earlier the angels that Heavenly Father has surrounded me with at this post...

Well I was just thinking how blessed I am. The other day I had finally gotten an appointment with my hair lady I like. I had my babysitter lined up for weeks, and something happened at the last minute that she couldn't. I was devastated. I had been looking forward to my hair appointment! Silly I know. I think just because it makes it a little more real that Pres is coming soon. The beautification process is beginning. You military wives know what I am talking about! Well anyways. I called 3 or 4 friends and left messages about my situation hoping someone would come through. Here is how blessed I am....

One friend called from the town 20 minutes from here, and was going to cancel her shopping and rush home to watch the kids for me.

Another friend, had a doc appointment but said she would rush home to watch the kids for me, and go back to the pharmacy and get her meds later. Even though the pharmacy is in the same building that her doc appointment is in.

Another friend called and said absolutely bring them over. Not a problem. I found out later that she was studying for a major test, and had to take it about an hour after I picked up the kids. Plus on top of that her mom and her sister were visiting her from out of state.

What wonderful friends I have that are always willing to drop everything for me. It really meant a lot to me. I have only known these ladies about seven months, and yet that military wife bond is crazy strong. I guess it has to be. I couldn't even list on a daily basis all the things we do for each other. Maybe one friend's baby had just fallen asleep, but it is time to go get the kids, so maybe I will go watch her sleeping baby, and she picks up my kids and her kids. It is just like a team effort this deployment thing. That is the only way to do it. I remember how much fun it was last deployment that I knew I could call Beth or Roxann any time of night, okay maybe not Roxann after 10pm. But one time I called Beth at 2am just to say I scared and can't sleep. So we just chatted for a minute, and she said what are you doing? I told her I was painting my bathroom, what are you doing? She said she was painting I think the living room still. We were on a painting kick at that time. Pretty funny. Each deployment is totally different, different people, different trials, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. They are shaping me, molding me, preparing me for who knows what.

i could see that same bond when i was in St. George with Ned and his family. They live right on top of a bunch of other LDS student familes and they are all in nursing school together - they seem to keep each other going in the right direction. by the way, Erin's heart procedure went well - and she is absolutely thrilled to be normal again. kids are great - the baby is awesome too!
