Deployment support group at school...

Okay this is the best idea EVER! The kids had this in Texas too. At school they meet once a week, and get to talk as a group to the counselor. They play fun games, and get to talk about their dads. My kids really enjoy it, and it really helps for them to get to talk about their dads with other kids who are doing the same thing. Here are some of their poems that I copied off the walls. Enjoy :)

Dad is gone far away
Everyday I feel sad
Please come back safely
Love my Dad
Oh why do you have to go
You are special to me & always in my heart
My Dad is cool and funny
Extended time away makes me mad
Nervous & not happy when you are gone
Terrific & Tremendous Dads

Daddy loves me
Everyday I miss him
Please stay safe and come home soon
Love you Daddy
Often I look at your pictures
You are very brave
Mommy rocks
Every soldier is a HERO
Never will I forget you
Thinking about the day my Daddy will come home

Daddy is far away
Empty heart, dad or mom is gone
Pretty cool soldiers
Love my daddy and mommy
Oceans apart
You are in my heart
Mommy is far away
Each soldier needs love
Nothing is going to hurt my dad
Together again soon

that was so sweet. it is good for all of us to be able to share our feelings . . . even the guys. yeah like that is gonna happen.

I'm glad they get to do that. It does seem like that would be helpful. Are all the boys together in the big group or do they separate it by age?

What have we been up to?
