Drexel Heritage solid wood headboard for $20

Okay you know what I am talking about when I say I thought for sure there was something wrong with this headboard. It was listed on Craigs List for over a month. I finally decided for $20 I would try it! My friend and I went to pick it up and it was BEYOND AMAZING! I couldn't believe what a beautiful bed it was. It was a young guy upset about the break up of his marriage, and wanted it out of his house. Well just a little background. He lived probably 35 minutes from me, and we had had two MAJOR snow storms that week, and it was still snowing!!!! My friend and I get there to load it up, and wow it won't fit....it isn't even CLOSE to fitting. hmmm....So I beg the guy to just leave it outside of the garage under the easement, and I will be back with a truck. I knew if it didn't fit in the yukon it wasn't going to fit in my husband's truck either. I called my girlfriend Kristina, and she said she would talk her hubby into picking it up with me. So the next day, it's still snowing and we head out there to pick it up. We try to load it in Brian's fullsize Chevy and it won't fit. YIKES! So Brian says you don't care if I MAKE IT FIT do you? I said nope. I am going to paint it anyways! I just want to get it home! Wow! So $20 can you believe it? I sanded it down, and primed with KILZ. I used a slate blue, and then added black glaze. I sold it for $125! I had a hard time getting rid of it. I didn't plan on selling it, but I just didn't have room for it!
